Doctoral Retreat

The D-MTEC Doctoral Retreat is a two-day event for first- and second-year doctoral candidates to connect among each other and to learn about overarching topics of their doctorate at D-MTEC.

The Doctoral Retreat is designed to:

  • bring together doctoral candidates across D-MTEC chairs and provide the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience,
  • facilitate discussion about substantive, methodological and theoretical domains of research in candidates’ respective fields,
  • allow you to get to know faculty members and fellow doctoral candidates and to have a good time together during the ample unscheduled periods, and
  • introduce you to the range of economics, management and systems research at D-MTEC.

The Doctoral Retreat takes place once a year in the summer and is free of charge for doctoral candidates at D-MTEC. The venue is carefully selected and may vary every year. The department covers the costs for accommodation (double room or single room), board (drinks are at your own expense) and train ticket (group ticket, second class, round-trip).
